Start The Change: Workshop for Parents and Workshop for teachers

INOVA+, a partner in the European project Start The Change, held a workshop for parents and a workshop for teachers in Loureiro Elementary School during the last weeks of November. At these gatherings, ten parents and ten educators were present, all eager to learn more about the project’s activities and accomplishments so far.

The workshops sought to present and spread the project’s activities and resources, as well as foster collaboration between teachers and parents in support of students’ voice and engagement. In these sessions, the Portuguese team of Start The Change raised the teacher’s and parent’s awareness about the importance of students´ voice and the participation of students in the school environment.

The teachers were very happy to share their experiences in the classroom and even the most challenging moments of their job. At the workshop for parents, the audience was very interested to know about the conclusions of the focus groups and their children’s opinions and perspectives.

The other Portuguese schools participating in the project are also getting ready for these workshops and to start implementing the projects their students have been working on.
