START THE CHANGE PARTNERS MEET IN PORTUGAL

Start the Change partners finally met in-person and held the 2-day partner meeting at the beginning of June in Matosinhos, Portugal.

The team discussed and planned project activities in the remaining six months of the three-year project, shared examples of good practice in three countries where direct work was being carried out with schools (Portugal, Northern Macedonia and Croatia) and planned the upcoming activities (particularly planning the publication with good practices and final conference).

Important aspect of the meeting were discussions and planning of the collaboration on the EU level, particularly opportunities for dissemination but also involving the EU level stakeholders that would support the student participation and importance of social inclusion in educational settings.

The meeting was hosted by the partner organization INOVA + and it was held at the premises of the Start the Change school EPROMAT (the vocational school). After the meeting, the team had the opportunity to visit the school, talk to the teachers and students, and learn about the way this school works and includes diverse students. The team particularly enjoyed the presentation held by the student and volunteer about the work of their award-winning volunteer club.
